David has authored seven books, including “A Philosophy of Pastoral Preaching: Shepherding God’s People with God’s Word in One Place.” In 2018, he retired as Preaching Pastor of Galilee Baptist Church to focus on empowering pastors, missionaries, and church leaders through Bible exposition and teaching expository preaching methods to the next generation.

    1. A suffering faith requires a persevering faith (5:7-8).
    2. A persevering faith is uncomplaining (5:9).
    3. A persevering faith is enduring (5:10-11).
    4. A persevering faith is honest (5:12).
    What do you do when you cry out to God, and he doesn't answer? When we face deep suffering, when we experience great loss, when we undergo injustice and pain, the only thing that can get us through is sticking with it faith. Real faith is a persevering faith. In this episode, we learn about four characteristics of sticking with it faith from the book of James.

    David Christensen has been involved in dual ministry as a pastor and professor for over 30 years. This combination of teaching and pastoring meshes deep study with practical application in ways that have prepared him for his current ministry at The Rephidim Project. He retired as Senior Pastor at Galilee Baptist Church in the fall of 2018 to devote his time to The Rephidim Project. Dave focuses his ministry on encouraging pastors, missionaries, and church leaders through Bible exposition and teaching the methods of expository preaching to the next generation of pastors. He is a member of The Evangelical Homiletics Society and The Evangelical Theological Society.

    1. The warning against hoarding encourages the needy (5:1-3)
    2. The warning against stealing encourages the needy (5:4).
    3. The warning against indulging encourages the needy (5:5).
    4. The warning against killing encourages the needy (5:6).
    If you ever feel the sting of economic injustice, then James is writing to you. God cares about economic injustice, and He will not let it last forever.
