TRANSFORMATIONAL PREACHING

Growing Christlike Believers through Expository Preaching

Seminar Description:
Sanctification is the goal of transformational preaching. In our sermons, we seek to restore the image of God in our listeners (Rom. 8:29). If contemplation of Christ is how we are transformed into His image (2 Cor. 3:18), then sermons should point people to Christ. Our people need to see Christ to become like Christ. It is not just Christ on the cross – a justification only message – that our people need to see. We must preach “Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Col. 1:27). Paul’s goal in preaching was to “present every man complete in Christ” (Col. 1:28). Each unit of thought in the Bible should teach us something about Christ, some facet of his image, that we seek to replicate in this life by His grace. How can we aim each sermon to grow Christlike believers? What methods will help us aim our messages more effectively? This seminar will teach you how to preach expository messages designed to produce Christlike believers who are being transformed by God’s Spirit.
